WellMama was one of four receipients of the 2009 Healthy Babies, Healthy Communities (HBHC) Award in Lane County, OR. The HBHC Initiative was formed to address Lane County's high fetal-infant mortality rate and to improve infant health. Priority areas that HBHC is currently focusing on are:
1. Preconception and reproductive health education and screening
2. Parental alcohol, tobacco and drug use
3. Safe sleep practices
4. Perinatal mood disorders
